Diamonds

Colour

Colour.png

The colour of a diamond reflects greatly on the value of the stone and the colour is measured from white at the very top of the scale through fine yellow tints to brown. The whiter the colour the rarer the stone.

Carat

A diamonds weight is measured in carats. One carat is divided by 100 points and the bigger the stone the greater the value.

Clarity

A diamonds clarity refers to the tiny inclusions that are present inside the stone and the less imperfections the higher the clarity. All internal blemishes are microscopic and formed at the very birth of a diamond in the rough and where no internal inclusions are present diamonds are graded as internally flawless.

Ring Size Guide

Measuring Your Ring Size

It is important that I make sure the ring of your choice is in a perfect fit, when buying an engagement ring or a wedding ring. I will measure the ring size during our consultation and in any case that we need to find it out discreetly, I have created this ring size guide which offers helpful tips to find out what your ring size is.

Please print out this simple ring size guide and place a ring over the circles, matching the inner diameter to find out your appropriate ring size or follow the instructions as explained on this guide

This is only a guide. Rings of a different styles may have a slightly, different size, which can be altered.

If you have ordered the wrong ring size, please don’t panic. Most of the rings can be adjusted to the correct ring size. There are a few styles of rings which cannot be resized after I make them, myself or a member of my team will advise you before we create your design.

In the event that you have the wrong ring size, please contact me as soon as possible. You have 30 days from the delivery date for a one free resizing of your ring. Unless you were advised differently in advance, I will be more than happy to resize your ring. This will be up or down to 2 sizes.

Storage

We recommend that you place each piece of jewellery in a separate compartment jewellery box, the idyllic is to leave the jewellery in the original box you have received form us.

Cleaning

The safest way to clean Gold and platinum is too rub them with a soft cloth dipped in warm water containing a mild liquid detergent.

Do not use bruises and scouring pads as they may scratch the metal.

The safest way to clean Diamonds is by using ethyl alcohol because it can dissolve grease build up and it evaporates quickly without leaving any water spots.

You are a valuable customer. Ben Jewellery gives you a complimentary cleaning and a check-up service for your jewellery every 18-24 month. Please contact customercare@benjewellery.com to arrange an appointment or shipping.

Gemstones can easily to be damaged from chemicals, heat and ultrasonic??? The safest way to do this, is to regularly wipe the gemstone with a soft cloth moistened with warm soapy water. Then dry it with a soft lint- free cloth.

If the dirt cannot be washed off with a cloth, you can use a soft toothpick (But don’t rube the metal)

Top Tips

Avoid wearing any jewellery while participating in playing any sport, housework, gardening, repairs etc.  (You may chip the stone. You may even scratch or crack the metal).

If you are placing the jewellery near the sink, make sure the drains are plugged or you have protective a container.

Do not pull your ring. Instead, grasp the metal ring portion, to prevent the stones from coming loose or getting dirty.

Avoid exposing your jewellery to sudden change of temperature (from hot to cold and etc) the stone could crack or shatter.

Avoid exposing your jewellery to hot ovens or hot pots.
